Suggestions

February 2006

  1. When a Saturday drill is necessary , try to have a minimum of 2-3 weeks lead time so members may pre-plan.  How about a meal in our district paid for by supplemental funds?  It may entice more interest in making the Saturday drill, encourage teamwork and camaraderie, and it would also be fun.  It is not the same as having it at the firehouse, I would not suggest having it at the station.
  2. Any extra activity made by a member would be given credit towards retirement points.  For example, meetings on behalf of the fire company, community service on behalf of the fire company, or others.  A form could be created and posted so the retirement officer could enter the required info for credit.
  3. Form a training committee to help plan and assist the training officer for weekly training.  Suggest committee be comprised of training officer, line officer and 2 firefighters.
  4. Form an active committee to review and up-date the company by-laws.  Suggest the committee be comprised of one admin officer, one line officer and 3 firefighters.
These are just suggestions made by members.  This will be updated as more suggestions are made.
